Well... This should be an easy process of elimination. Detonation is what? Too much timing advance, or too little fuel. What things can effect timing? A wrong setting on the CAS, or a bad CAS. So, have you checked your timing? It is at 15 BTDC? If the timing is set correctly, it shouldn't wobble around when observing it with a timing light. If the CAS is malfunctioning, it can make your timing fluctuate wildly. If the CAS is ok, have you checked your fuel pressure? that is easy to do. Have you made sure that the fuel filter is not plugged? Have you ohmed your coolant temp sensor? The coolant temp sensor plays a huge part in how much fuel is being distributed. If it is reading the motor hotter than it is, then it can lean out the mixture so you would get detonation.
